Who is waxing for?

Waxing at SIMEHA Institut is for anyone who wants smooth skin for several weeks, without shaving every day. This page presents the treatments for women: legs, arms, underarms, bikini and face. Men have their own page, men's waxing.

Wax removes the hair with its root. Regrowth therefore takes longer than after shaving, which cuts the hair level with the skin. In general, the skin stays smooth for several weeks; how long varies from one person to another and from one area to another.

We only wax. You will not find laser hair removal, IPL or threading here.

What happens during a wax at SIMEHA Institut?

A wax at the salon has three stages: the skin is prepared, the wax is applied and then removed, and the area is soothed. The session takes from 30 min to 1 h 30 min depending on the area.

The beautician chooses the wax according to the area and your skin type. We work with hot wax or warm wax. In general, hot wax is used on sensitive areas, such as the bikini line, the underarms and the face. Warm wax suits large areas, such as the legs and arms.

Say so when you arrive if your skin reacts easily, if you are on a treatment that makes it fragile, or if this is your first wax. The beautician then adapts the treatment.

Bikini wax: four shapes to choose from

The bikini wax at SIMEHA Institut comes in four shapes, from the classic bikini to the Hollywood. You choose the shape when you book, and the price shown is the one you pay.

The classic bikini follows the line of your underwear. The high-cut bikini goes higher on the sides. The Brazilian removes more hair, and the Hollywood removes everything. If you are unsure between two shapes, ask on WhatsApp before you book.

Eyebrow and face waxing

Eyebrows are waxed at SIMEHA Institut in the "Eyebrows + upper lip" treatment, at CHF 30 for 30 min. We also wax the upper lip on its own (CHF 20) and the face, cheeks and chin (CHF 35).

The skin of the face is thin. That is why the wax is chosen with care and applied in small areas. If you use a cream or a treatment that makes your skin more sensitive, mention it before the treatment.

Tips before and after your wax

Before a wax, let the hair grow a few millimetres: that is the length the wax needs to grip it properly. After the treatment, leave your skin in peace for a day or two.

Before your appointment:

• do not shave the area during the two to three weeks before, in general;
• do a gentle scrub a few days before, not on the day itself;
• come with clean skin, with no rich cream or oil.

After your appointment:

• avoid the sun, the sauna and very hot baths for a day or two;
• wear loose clothing over the waxed area;
• moisturise the skin with a gentle, fragrance-free product;
• go back to a light scrub after a few days, which generally helps to limit ingrown hairs.

Redness may appear straight after the treatment. In general, it fades within a few hours.

Where is the salon and how do you book?

SIMEHA Institut is at Rue Caroline 41, 1227 Genève, Suisse, in the Acacias district. The salon is open Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 to 19:00 and Saturday from 10:00 to 17:00.

You book your wax online, without creating an account: choose the treatment, then the time, then give your first name, phone number and email. You receive a confirmation by email, with a link to cancel if something comes up. You pay at the salon. All our prices are gathered on the prices page.
